Over the past several years our award system for our large national events has recognized both the contributions made to the event’s organization as well as for actions during the event. Signalman Brown’s meticulous attention to detail and tireless efforts were instrumental in enabling our forces to outmaneuver and decisively defeat the enemy on multiple assaults conducted on May 1, 1942. His adept handling of communications allowed for swift and coordinated actions, ultimately leading to the destruction of enemy positions and the preservation of our unit’s combat effectiveness.

For his extraordinary valor and meritorious service in the face of adversity, Signalman Newt Brown is hereby awarded For Bravery.

On July 10, 1943, on the battlefield, Donovan Grbic demonstrated outstanding skills and initiative in carrying out his duties as Battalion Quartermaster (per Warrior’s orders). Thanks to his organizational talents and expertise, the battalion was properly supplied with all necessary resources, which made a significant contribution to maintaining the combat readiness of the troops in difficult battle conditions.

Moreover, Donovan Grbic was the initiator and leader of the project to create and deploy PTRD anti-tank rifles, which effectively countered the enemy’s tank threat. His leadership and courage at the head of the anti-tank teams made a significant contribution to the defeat of enemy armored vehicles and saved many lives of Soviet soldiers.

For his courage, valor, and contribution in carrying out the duties of Battalion Quartermaster as well as for leading the PTRD group and commanding the anti-tank teams, Donovan Grbic is worthy of being awarded the Order of the Patriotic War.
